Domestic violence can happen to anyone

Victims are not distinguished by race, sex, age, or socioeconomic status. There is no one ‘type’ of victim.

Domestic violence affects everyone

One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.

Approximately 1.3 million women are victims of assault from their partner each year.

Most cases of domestic violence are never reported.

Boys that witness domestic violence in their household are twice as likely to abuse their partners and children as adults.

30% to 60% of people that abuse their intimate partner also abuse their children (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence).
